Medical Evaluation
how to prepare and what to expect from your medical evaluation
A medical internist conducts a comprehensive medical evaluation to assess the non-neurological aspects of your health.
How to Prepare
Please arrive for this outpatient procedure at the time and location given to you.
Be sure to bring to your appointment a list of all of your current over-the-counter and prescription medications, including the dosage amount and the frequency with which you take them.
You may eat and drink as usual and remain active right up until the time of your appointment.
What to Expect
Once you are settled in your room, you may be asked to disrobe and put on a hospital gown for this evaluation.
The physician will take a detailed medical history and ask you questions about your allergies, past surgeries, and any other symptoms and problems you may be experiencing. He or she will also conduct a thorough physical exam and review the results of your laboratory tests, electrocardiogram (ECG), and chest x-rays. If these tests were completed at another institution, please be sure to bring the results to your medical evaluation, unless you have already had them faxed or sent to CINN. (Note: x-rays cannot be faxed).
Your medical evaluation will be painless and take 45 to 60 minutes to complete. You may resume your normal activities immediately.
